Alufil AlMg 5 is een 5356 type aluminium lasdraad die altijd PLW (Precision layer wound) geleverd wordt. Het lasmateriaal is Al-5Mg en is geschikt om te verlassen met argon of argon/helium beschermgas. Alufil AlMg5 wordt gebruikt voor het verlassen van Al-Mg en Al-Mg-Zn legeringen. Ook kan deze draad gebruikt worden bij het lassen van verschillende soorten aluminium met een maximum van 5%Mg of voor onderdelen die vervolgens geanodiseerd worden. Alufil AlMg 5 is de meest gebruikte aluminium lasdraad vanwege de hoge rekgrens en de weerstand tegen corrosie inclusief zeewater corrosie.
